Estou lendo o livro “Experiencing the Trinity” (Regent College Publishing, 2002), escrito por Darrell Johson, professor de teologia pastoral no Regent College (Vancouver, Canadá), foi pastor da Primeira Igreja Batista em Vancouver. Darrell é um querido irmão, pastor e mentor que mesmo a distância e não tendo o privilégio de conhece-lo pessoalmente, mas por meio de seus livros e mensagens disponíveis online, me abençoa, inspira e encoraja ricamente na caminhada em Cristo.

Compartilhando algumas de suas reflexões:

“‘No centro do universo está um relacionamento’. Essa é a verdade mais fundamental que eu conheço. No centro do universo está uma comunidade. É desse relacionamento que você e eu fomos criados e redimidos. E é para esse relacionamento que você e eu fomos criados e redimidos. (…) Acontece que a comunidade é uma Trindade. O centro da realidade é Pai, Filho e Espírito Santo .” (p.37).

“É porque fomos criados à imagem da Trindade que a solidão é tão esmagadora, que relacionamentos rompidos são tão debilitantes, que a morte é tão dolorosa. A falta ou perda de relacionamento viola nossa natureza essencial, criada para refletir a essência relacional de Deus .” (p.52-53).

“A palavra grega baptizo significa imergir, mergulhar dentro e abaixo, ser inundado e encharcado. Ser batizado no Nome Trinitário é ser imerso não apenas na água, mas na própria realidade do Nome! privilégio de entrar e participar da comunidade trinitária de amor! Você percebe isso? Quando dizemos ‘sim’ a Jesus como Salvador e Senhor, estamos imersos no amor e na vida de Deus Pai; e somos imersos na graça e verdade de Deus Filho; e somos imersos no poder e pureza de Deus Espírito”. “O Deus vivo não é um Deus solitário. O Deus vivo não é um Deus isolado. Desde toda a eternidade o Deus vivo viveu em relacionamento – de fato, viveu como relacionamento. No centro do universo está o relacionamento. Deus vivo tem sido comunidade, família. Desde toda a eternidade o Deus vivo se agradou infinitamente como Pai, Filho e Espírito Santo”. (pág. 61)

I am reading the book “Experiencing the Trinity” (Regent College Publishing, 2022), by Darrell Johson, associate professor of Pastoral Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, he was the senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Vancouver (Canada). Darrell is a dear brother, pastor and mentor though his books and messages available online, even though I have never met him yet, I am truly blessed, inspired and encouraged in my journey in Chrisht.

Just sharing some of his thoughts:

“´At the center of the universe is a relationship´. That is the most fundamental truth I know. At the center of the universe is a community. It is out of that relationship that you and I were created and redeemed. And it is for that relationship that you and I were created and redeemed. And it turns out that there is a three-fold-ness to that relationship. It turns out that the community is a Trinity. The center of reality is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” (p.37).

“It is because we are created in the image of the Trinity that loneliness is so crushing, that broken relationships are so debilitating, that death is so painful. Lack or loss of relationship violates our essential nature, created to reflect the relational essence of God.” (p.52-53).

“The greek word baptizo means to immerse, to plunge in and beneath, to be inundated and drenched. To be baptized in the Trinitarian Name is to be immersed not just in water but in the very reality of the Name! We are given the unspeakable privilege of entering into and participating in the Trinitarian community of love! Do you realize that? When we say ´yes´ to Jesus as Savior and Lord, we are immersed into the love and life of God the Father; and are immersed into the grace and truth of God the Son; and we are immersed into the power and purity of God the Spirit.” (p.54).

“The living God is not a solitary God. The living God is not an isolated God. From all eternity the living God has lived in relationship – indeed, has lived as relationship. At the center of the universe is relationship. From all eternity the living God has been community, family. From all eternity the living God has been infinitely pleased as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” (p.61)
